Edward A. Myerberg Center, Inc., A Program of CHAI: Since 1976, the Edward A. Myerberg Center has been helping adults in Baltimore, Maryland, stay active, engaged, healthy, and connected. The Myerberg Center is a true community Center, not only for the 900+ members who participate in 125 programs, classes, and activities, but for the entire northwest Baltimore community. Local religious and civic organizations hold their weekly meetings at the Myerberg Center, and the Frosburg Room is a popular location for local families’ celebrations and milestone events. Edward A. Myerberg Center, Inc., A Program of CHAI has an immediate opening for a Building Operations Manager: This position’s primary function and focus is the day-to-day operations of the Center. The Building Operations Manager will supervise staff and oversee contractual services, foster growth of the Myerberg Center, services, and facility as well as develop and implement clear action plans and systems needed to address operations, challenges, and opportunities. This position reports to the Center Director.
In this role you will:
Plan, organize, maintain, and manage the operations and knowledge of building’s infrastructure systems such as plumbing, IT, HVAC, and electrical systems.
Manage the Center’s custodians (external contractors) for cleaning and room set-up needs.
Coordinate and manage security needs during hours of operations as well as for special events and rental functions.
Administer procurement and fiscal management activities associated with building and grounds maintenance activities, which may include obtaining price quotes and bids, negotiating, and administering contracts.
Monitor and oversee the work of external contractors to ensure terms of agreements are met and work is completed satisfactorily.
Manage and negotiates building rentals and tenants, including lease renewals, and increasing the number of rentals in the building.
Manage building and admin expenses within approved annual budget and provide monthly credit card reconciliation as well as check requests/invoices for building expenses.
Coordinates Building Committee participates in other committees as needed and attends all Board of Director meetings.
Develop and maintain expertise in managing data in Schedules Plus.
Expertise in Zoom, hybrid technology and assist with programming as needed.
Serve as part of management team on fundraising efforts and grant opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with facilities management and building systems
Experience with capital operating budgets and managing Request for Proposals
Familiarity with leases and legal services
Experience with database management, proficient with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with Jewish culture and values or willingness to learn
Preferred Experience/Skills
Related certifications in building/facility management or general contractor preferred
Experience with developing and implementing fundraising strategies
Experience with grant identification, writing and submission preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $60,000 – 70,000 annually, salary commensurate with experience.
